"...Data errors are virtually eliminated."
--Suzanne Schwartz
IS Analyst for JohnsonDiversey
JohnsonDiversey performs thousands of audits per month with a staff of more than 80 fully trained auditors in the United States alone. For most of their clients, immediate results and feedback are essential for maintaining quality.
With operations in more than 60 countries, and more than 14,000 employees world-wide, JohnsonDiversey is a leading global provider of cleaning and hygiene solutions to the institutional and industrial marketplace. Their clients span a wide range of industries, including lodging, foodservice, retail, healthcare, food processing, and building service contractors.
Problem: Reports Took up to a Month to Complete
In July of 2001, JohnsonDiversey teamed up with Steton to improve its auditing and inspection process. Since that time, speed, accuracy, and an overall improvement in efficiency have been recognized. “Historically, we used paper to perform audits," states Suzanne Schwartz, IS Analyst for JohnsonDiversey. “The audit results were then mailed in to headquarters. Data entry personnel would then transfer information to the computer and reports were generated. This process would often take more than a month to complete."
iMAP: More Accurate Data and Faster Reporting
JohnsonDiversey worked with Steton to develop a multi-language, customized version of the SQS software which JohnsonDiversey has branded globally as iMAP. “With iMAP, the turn-around time for audit results has been dramatically reduced," states Schwartz. “Once the audit is performed, results are immediately generated and reports are provided." Speed was a big part of the reason JohnsonDiversey turned to Steton for the iMAP auditing solution. But, the need for more accurate data played an equally important role in the decision.
“Another key benefit has been the accuracy of the audit data," Schwartz continues. “With the paper method of data collection, errors were often made due to the double-entry that would take place with auditors and the data entry clerks. With iMAP, data errors are virtually eliminated."
The Bottom Line: Great Value and Competitive Advantage
Finally, the bottom line has been the added value JohnsonDiversey has been able to deliver to their customers using Steton's leading-edge technology. States Suzanne Schwartz, “We see our iMAP program utilizing Steton's software as the technological wave of the future. It has enabled us to provide our clients with a competitive edge. Our clients enjoy an advantage in the marketplace resulting from JohnsonDiversey's technically advanced support to their quality and safety programs."
